Through a unique partnership with the Anchorage School District, the Transitions program provides educational services to Alaska Native and American Indian students through culturally responsive core academic classes and social support services within ASD schools.
We know students learn best when they receive individualized attention, so CITC classes are limited to 20 students. All CITC classes actively integrate Native culture in the curricula, and offer students a sense of cultural belonging that builds self-confidence and contributes to academic achievement. CITC Transitions classes offer:
- core and advanced academic classes
- programs that exceed state and district standards
- life-skills mentoring and social support
- culturally enriched curriculum
- smaller class sizes
Alaska Native and American Indian students attending classes at specific ASD schools are eligible. Please call (907) 793-3265 for more information.
