The Burial Assistance program provides cash assistance to Alaskan Native and American Indian families who have lost a loved one and lack the means to provide a proper memorial.
The program is based on available income and resources of the deceased and their family.
Eligibility
The next of kin must provide proof of deceased’s Native blood, their photo ID, proof of residency in the Municipality of Anchorage, the time of death within 30 days, and be able to verify a lack of resources (such as life insurance, retirement benefits, etc.)
