Each year, more than 8,000 low-income families throughout the state receive clothing, diapers, and other household necessities through the Kids In Distressed Situations program (K.I.D.S.).
As the only Alaska-based partner for the national K.I.D.S. program, CITC coordinates with the New York charity for the delivery of high-quality items donated from national retailers and manufacturers for statewide distribution.
The K.I.D.S. program serves children living in poverty, or children who are victims of homelessness or domestic abuse, have a parent serving in the military or children who have a parent who is incarcerated. The donation of needed items helps non-profit support organizations focus limited resources on other critical services.
Last year, more than $1 million worth of merchandise was distributed to Alaska’s most vulnerable families.
