DESCRIPTION:Introducing Tribal PREP to Anchorage youth\, parents\, elders\, community\, and CITC employees. \nTribal PREP is a federally funded grant through Family & Youth Services Bureau (FYSB) with the Administration for Children & Families (ACF) in the Department of Health & Human Services (DHHS). \nThe Youth Empowerment Services Department is implementing the new program Tribal PREP that will be working with Alaska Native/American Indian youth on subjects that focus on preparing youth for adulthood.  These subjects include but not limited to: \n*Healthy Relationships\n*Financial Literacy\n*Healthy Life Skills\n*Safe sex\, abstinence\, and contraceptive education\n*Adolescent Development\n*STD/STI and HIV/AIDS prevention\n*Parent-Child Communication\n*Pregnancy and parenting\n*Career/Education Services \nThe goal of the program is to assist youth to empower their own lives\, increase their knowledge of important health topics\, enhance their understanding of present day decision-making on future life goals and educate them on necessary relationship\, communication\, and life skills to successfully navigate adulthood.

DESCRIPTION:Semester Amount: Amount varies based on available funding and number of qualified applicants. \nCompleted PAPER applications will be considered in the order they were received – first completed\, first awarded. \nRequirements: \n\nVoting\, CIRI Shareholder or lineal descendant of voting shareholder\nMust have a high school diploma or GED\nEnrolled in one of the following degree programs: Associates\, Bachelors\, Masters\, or Doctorate; Post-Baccalaureate program of study; or prerequisite courses before entering into a degree program\nMust be attending an accredited institution\nA 2.0 cumulative grade point average or higher\n\nAward Details: \n\nStudents are funded per term only.
