Denełchin Lab Community Classes are back!

Led by expert instructors, our classes cater to participants of all skill levels—from beginners on a journey of discovery to entrepreneurs seeking hands-on experience with state-of-the-art tools and machinery. Youth under 16 must be accompanied by an adult.

Intro to Resin pouring: Kaktovik Numeral Clocks

Participants will design and assemble their own clock, and learn about the basics of resin pouring and the Kaktovik numerals.

In this workshop you will experiment with Art grade epoxy resin. Resins are a type of plastic, which begin as a viscus liquid and once dry, form into very-hard very-clear plastic. Explore the many ways to color, mix, blend, cast and create with this versatile material. Discover the unique history and applications for the Kaktovik numerals invented in 1994 by Alaskan students. Design your clock face to with your own unique style using paints, Alaska themed cutouts, resin dyes, mica powders and a selection of clock hands.

Intro to Sublimation printing – Custom gift pack

Customize a canvas bag, coffee mug, and holiday greeting cards with sublimation printing.

Assemble pre-printed graphics to create your own unique design, scrapbook-style.. We will use sublimation to transfer ink from your printed design directly onto the surface of the bags, mugs, and cards. The sublimation process uses a specific printer, ink, and paper to transfer your designs onto any compatible surface.

Discover the possibilities of sublimation ink transfer, and learn to operate the sublimation printer and heat press safely, all while creating a unique gift for yourself or others!

All ages are welcome! We ask that youth participants younger than 16 are accompanied by a parent/guardian. All attendees must purchase a ticket.
