CITC to Act as Absentee In-Person Polling Place for 2024 Election

Cook Inlet Tribal Council is making it easier for all Alaskans to participate in the democratic process!

This year, CITC is proud to host an Absentee Voting Station onsite, October 28 – November 4. As one of just three absentee voting locations in Anchorage, alongside Anchorage City Hall and the Division of Elections office, CITC is committed to increasing voter accessibility for all Alaskans.

Key Voting Information:

  • Dates: October 28 – November 4
  • Times: Monday – Friday, 10 a.m. – 4 p.m.
  • Location: Nat’uh Service Center, 3600 San Jeronimo Drive (across from Costco on Debarr)

Who can vote at CITC?

The CITC Absentee Voting Station is open to all eligible Alaska residents, regardless of their precinct of residence. Whether you’ll be out of state on Election Day (November 5) or simply prefer to vote early, CITC welcomes all Alaskans to cast your ballot at our convenient location.

Why is early voting important?

Early voting ensures that everyone, especially those with unpredictable work schedules or limited transportation options, has the opportunity to make their voice heard. If you would prefer to vote absentee by mail, request your ballot by the October 21 deadline.

How Does Absentee In-Person Voting Work?

Absentee In-Person voting requires you to complete an envelope with your voted ballot and drop the envelope in a ballot box. These ballots are not scanned at the voting location and are instead reviewed by the Absentee Review Board to make sure you are eligible and that you have not already voted.

“It’s a nice convenience,” said Michelle Sparck, CITC’s director of strategic initiatives for Get Out the Native Vote. “The lines are usually smaller, and voting should only take a few minutes behind the curtain.”

CITC’s Absentee Voting Station will be conducted by the Division of Elections. For more information on absentee and early voting, visit the division’s website. For additional resources, visit Get Out the Native Vote.

Help us increase voter turnout by sharing this information with your friends, family, and community members. Every vote counts, and early voting makes it easier for everyone to have their voice heard.
