In this class, participants will learn how to navigate SNAP (supplemental nutrition assistance program), in addition to learning fundamental principles associated with Carbohydrates, Proteins, Fats, the Glycemic Index, Salt, Vitamins and Minerals, Organics vs processed and preservatives/additives in food. We will also be pooling our knowledge together developing a better understanding of subsistence activities and food as well as the concept of “eating on a SNAP budget.”
