The Senior Games are open to all Alaska students in grades 7–12. Participation is limited to one boy and one girl athlete per event, per school.

There is no limit for the number of athletes schools can send to the Anchorage Team Tryouts. The fee is $5 per athlete. The first and second place overall athletes will form two teams to compete at the NYO Games in April.
